About Us

IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) is one of the key initiatives of the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). It is through various IEDCs in colleges across Kerala that KSUM promotes student entrepreneurs and startups on campuses. The IEDC unit at Saintgits College of Engineering (Autonomous) has upheld the cause of KSUM by being an active force in incubating startups since its inception twelve years ago.

IEDC@SAINTGITS is one of the oldest IEDCs in the State and has been selected among the Top 10 IEDCs several years in a row, which goes on to show our commitment to promoting the start-up culture among students. We offer students the unique opportunity to be part of a statewide and nationwide interdisciplinary team of innovators, entrepreneurs and student leaders, and a chance to navigate budding entrepreneurs onto their future.

History

The years from 2010-2021 have been declared as the "Decade of Innovation" by India. Kerala towards the end of this decade witnessed a wave of innovative and entrepreneurial efforts from various sectors. As a result, Kerala now has a unique model of connecting Academics, Industries, R&D institutions and Startups, unlike other startup ecosystems in the country.
The Government of Kerala initiated the startup movement through the creation of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM, formerly known as Technopark TBI). KSUM was founded in 2006, with the goal to promote technology-based entrepreneurship activities and to create the infrastructure and ecosystem required to support startup businesses.
One of the main objectives of KSUM is the formation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cells (IEDCs) in academic institutions. IEDC@SAINTGITS was inaugurated by Mr. K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary and Registrar, Technopark TBI on March 18, 2011, with the support of TTBI.

To create an innovation culture among innovators by introducing them to State-of-the-art technologies and positioning the Institution as a Learning and Innovation Platform by delivering technically competent and skilled Entrepreneurs.

    MEGASOLUTIONS is a start-up company incubated at Saintgits College of Engineering, during the year 2019, under Saintgits Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SCIE). The company’s initial focus was on the production of scrolling LED displays. The partnership firm's registration process was finalized by April 2021, with Er. Jyothish Chandran G, Er. Gokul Sali, and Er. Nishanth P R serving as its partners. Additionally, the company holds GST and MSME registrations.

    The primary objectives of the business are:
    1. Electronic Hardware, Software, IT, Networking and IoT related product design, production, sales, and service.
    2. Design and development of various customized products based on customer requirements.
    3. To carry out services like assembling and maintenance of electronic products or IT related products, using readily available components.
    4. Creation of customized computer hardware and software for IT related products and services.
    5. Setting up electronics, embedded systems and IoT labs.
    Currently we manufacture:
    • IoT controlled Fully Automated Tank Water level controller / Indicator
    • IoT controlled solutions for operating various household Power equipment’s.
    • Automated hand sanitizer machine with no false triggering, no wastage of sanitizer and with precise volume control
    • Automated digital control systems for machines in small industries.
    • Advanced LED displays and video walls with redefined functionalities using indigenously developed technologies.
